My day so far Earlier this week I got a virus on my computer. I didn't have time to reformat for and re-install everything during the week and yesterday I had a headache most of the day so finally after 5 days of not being able to use google I reformatted my computer and I spent the last 5-6 hours re-installing everything and making sure my settings are correct. Now this time, i'm using Acronis True Image Home 2009 to make a image of my system/c drive so next time I should be able to load the backup up that I'm making right this minute instead of spending another whole Sunday reformatting and re-installing. I've never made a disk image before so I'm a bit leery as to how it's supposed to work and I'll probably end up overkilling on backups but seriously this last virus was most annoying! I should have some recs coming up soon! I couldn't post anything through the week because being online was an exercise in frustration with pop ups all over the place! http://amalthia.dreamwidth.org/591056.html#comments |

Morning, guys! Just a quick note before I take mom to daycare. I still feel like crap, coughing, drainage, all the fun stuff. Can't just go to bed and be sick, though. There's always too much that needs to be done.
Yesterday was a long day. Mom had an appointment with her lung doc in the afternoon. He wants her back on the Levaquin for another ten days because she's still pretty congested. I got her restarted on it last night with her bedtime pills. She's got an appointment with her Heart doc tomorrow at 10:30 but I think that will go well. Her new diuretic seems to be working. There hasn't been any excessive swelling in her face, arms or lungs since she started on it. She goes into heart failure so easily without the help the meds give.
Amber's still home sick from school. Lee's still coughing but is back at work. I told Lee last night we're the croupy family.
No luck on the furniture so far. The only offer we've had was for $130.00. It may be the best we can hope for but I'll give it a little longer. We've had the tables a long time but they're still like new. I'd like to get at least $200.00 for them but it may just not be feasible.
I thought about doing the writer's fanfiction meme but I was afraid no one would remember I even write it's been so long. Maybe next year will be better, huh?
Well, gotta go. Have to get mom to daycare in time for lunch. I'm hoping to have a little time this afternoon just to rest before I go pick her up. I need to be doing laundry but I may have it wait until tonight. Take care, guys, hope that you have a great afternoon. |

Guys, a question, please... Like I said, we're going to be selling a bunch of stuff to raise the money for the new living room furniture. We have a really pretty 8' X 10' 8" Modern Abstract Oriental rug that we'd like to try and sell because, unfortunately, it won't match the new sofa. It's from back in the days when we actually had money so we paid almost $700.00 for it new. It's not really dirty but I plan on having it cleaned by Coit before giving it to whoever buys it. I'd do it myself but you can't just use a steam cleaner on one of these rugs because of the way they're made. It'll really be just like new then. Okay, I'm going to take my aching, sneezing body to make some hot tea. I have to go pick mom up from daycare in less than an hour and I feel like crap. Do you think $125.00 would be a good price to ask for it? Too much? Too little? I have no idea what's best so I thought I'd toss it out to you, my wise and sage f'list. Help me ObiWan Kenobi, you're my only hope! :) PS I promise to get the wish_list Master list updated, hopefully tonight after mom's in bed. I'm sorry I haven't been able to before now. PPS Almost forgot something important. Here's what it looks like. There are six different pictures so just click through: http://pics.livejournal.com/digitalwave/pic/001sza08/g22*hugs* |

Wish us luck, guys... Before mom came to live with us, we had our house set up pretty different. In our living room, on the side with the fireplace, we had a rug, two end tables and two recliners. On the opposite side of the room, we had our kitchen table and chairs with our sofa table and some book cases lining the walls around it. Our 'dining room' was our main room, with our tv & video set up, two recliners, a love seat and our coffee table. Downstairs in the finished parts of our basement we had my little office and Lee's office in the main part of the basement. It was a really nice set up from when he'd worked freelance graphics full-time. When mom came to live with us we had to shift everything around to meet her needs, especially the impairment in her vision. ( Cut so you can skip if you want to )I know the odds are stacked against us. So much of it depends on our not having any major problems cropping up along the way to eat up the money we've saved. Which they have a nasty habit of doing. It would be nice to be able to do this for ourselves. It's probably a pipe dream but, we're sure going to try. :) |

Hi again, guys! I've been running around like a crazy thing trying to get things done today. Mom's doing better but now both Lee and Amber have this same nasty respiratory crud. Thankfully, Lee went to the doctor this morning. Doctor Klein confirmed my diagnosis of a bacterial respiratory infection and even prescribed the same antibiotic, Levaquin, that I thought he would. Could have saved us the $25 for the doctor's visit even if we couldn't avoid the $44.00 for his meds. ;) All kidding aside, Lee's cough sounds pretty nasty, sure hope the meds start helping him feel better soon. Now if I can just keep from getting it. Times like this it actually comes in handy to have an out of control immune system. My body tends to burn out any bug I pick up fairly quickly. Now if it just holds true this time. I still haven't had the time to make a new listing of stuff to sell for here yet, I need time to take some pictures. I do have a bunch of stuff listed on Ebay, though, both some more of Lee's mom's jewelry and some comics related stuff. Here they are if you'd like to take a look: http://stores.ebay.com/Digitalwaves-Digital-DreamsWell, I'd better go and see if Lee needs anything. Hope that everyone is having a truly wonderful day. :) *hugs* |
